The Greater Men Foundation is proud to introduce Mid City to its Fall Sports Student-Athlete of the Year- Darius Clemons of Des Moines North.
The 5’9 senior led the team in scoring with a 22ppg average and paced the North High School Polar Bears to six wins this season. But it is his outstanding 3.4GPA and stellar list of extracurricular activities that has garnered him the honor of being named Fall Student-Athlete of the Year by the Greater Men Foundation.
“He was an honor to coach this season because he set a positive example for our younger players of how they can achieve their goals at North,” commented Head Boys Basketball Coach Chad Ryan.
Clemons is a leader off the court also, as he serves as Senior class president and a member of the National Honor Society.
“He is a good role model for other students,” said Counselor Simone Freeman. “The see how much Darius has developed as a student and aspire to do the same.”
Currently, Clemons is considering several college scholarship offers from schools including Iowa Central, Missouri Southern University, Southwest Baptist University and Newman University.
