Jolly Holiday Lights is the largest benefit drive for Make-A-Wish Foundation. Grab some hot chocolate and load up the car for Water Works Park now through December 31st to support this great cause. Price is $10 per car every day except Monday, when the price drops to $5. www.iowawish.org/jollyholidaylights.

Nothing brings back memories like making a little fun in the Iowa Winter and enjoying the snow! Grab a sled and give the hills a try at two fabulous spots: Waveland Golf Course or Iowa Capitol Grounds. And parents…it’s FREE.

At Brenton Skate Plaza, you can enjoy some exercise on the ice. Public Skating is available now through the end of February. Try out at Broomball league, or just come to Rock the River every Friday night through the open season…hosted by 107.5 and DJ Cuz. For more info check out www.brentonplaza.com.

So you are an avid theatre fan or someone who needs to break the ice in live performance and you wonder what you can do? Everything from Nutcracker, Sound of Music, The Blenders: Holiday Soul Tour, The Classic Hits of Motown with the Des Moines Symphony and much more can be found at our local theaters this season. GuideOne ImaginEve! is Des Moines’ premier FREE, family New Year’s Eve celebration. The event features inflatable rides, bounce houses, a caravan of clowns, balloon artist, carnival games and prizes, toddler zone, mini golf, dancers and a fireworks finale. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Plan to make early New Year’s Plans with the whole family from 4pm-8pm at Hy-Vee Hall in Downtown Des Moines.
