Trinity United Methodist Church is a Christ centered, inclusive worship community whose love of God, creation and humankind is made visible through their  peace and justice ministries.

Trinity is one of the most utilized church buildings in the city.  Trinity has three ministries; Trinity United Methodist Church, Las Americas, and Children and Family Urban Ministries.  On an average, 300 people come through our doors on a daily basis for ministry and there are approximately 5,000 opportunities for volunteers to serve annually through the three ministries.

Trinity United Methodist Church and Las Americas provide

  • worship and Christian Education
  • Citizenship classes
  • Computer Classes in Spanish
  • Spanish Alcoholics Anonymous Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday evenings
  • Parenting Class in Spanish
  • Pastoral Care, General Assistance, and Referrals
  • Transportation provided by volunteers to visit loved ones in prison
  • Re-entry team for those coming out of prison
  • Advocacy services
  • College and Seminary internships and service opportunities
  • Meals, gender specific programs, youth programs, produce and bread distribution offered at CFUM

Currently, Trinity is undergoing a major restoration project Cornerstone 2010.  Trinity’s church building is celebrating it’s centennial in June 2011 and houses one of the oldest organs in the City of Des Moines.
