Empowerment Gardens

1603 13th St. 515-419-6801
A community garden open to the neighborhood next to Edna Griffen Park. The goal is to empower individuals to cultivate themselves and the neighborhood through gardening.

Executive Director: Alecia Kates

Access to local healthy food is one of the biggest issues going on today.  Empowerment Gardens has taken on the issue by creating a community garden next to Edna Griffen Park in King Irving.

Once you have your plot, there will be many different opportunities to explore. There will be basic classes to help you get started, experienced volunteers that will be available for questions, educational programming for youth, and much more as the gardens develop into a community of their own.

For more information on what is available and volunteer opportunities, contact Alecia Kates.
